That Wilderness

That Wilderness is a personal project I have been working on since 2019. It is a series of drawings that represent imaginary landscapes from an unknown recondite nature. They are inspired on botanical illustration manuals, images which fundamental purpose was to study and catalog the new species of the "new worlds" known. As a secondary effect, these images function as travel vehicles to far places, as manifestations of Fernweh, or nostalgy of the far and unknown.

These images play with the artifice of the reconstruction of nature to generate pictures of impossible landscapes, all connected as fragments of a wild, emerging from the dark of the paper as if they were suddenly illuminated.
