“Hand of Books” was my contribution to the exhibition “Anatomical Theatre” at RMS, The Space, in February 2012.

This exhibition remembers those collections that proliferated in the XVI and XVII century in Europe, where miscellaneous objects were classified under generic categories (Naturalia, Artificialia, Exotica and Scientifica), in an attempt to approach the mysteries of life. The exhibition also refers to the Micro-salon d'Avril, organized by Iris Clert in 1957, an exhibition that gathered more than 250 artistic works, not bigger than a postcard.

“Hand of Books” is a game of scale, between the macro and the micro, the universe in our hand and the knowledge contained in books.
