Yorokobu Calendar 2013

Yorokobu Magazine starts 2013 with this beautiful illustrated calendar. I took part drawing the month of December.

We were asked to make up a little tale about the origin of the name of the month we had to illustrate. This is what I came up with:
The extinct grizzly bears from Manitoba used to hibernate piled one on top of the other. The word "December" comes from "ten". It was in groups on ten that these bears used to gather for their big sleep on the last month of the year.
